3. Barge and ferry logistics not priced into the rate. Waiheke materials and plant move by the Auckland-Waiheke barge operator or by ferry. A standard mainland rate doesn't price the 25-35% logistics uplift on materials, the barge-window programme dependency, or the wait-day risk if weather closes the barge. Steel fabrication delivery alone can run 8-15% over mainland on a 6 t structural-steel package.
